Mein fotografisches Handwerk erlernte ich bei dem Fotografen und Filmemacher Valentin Schwab. In einem fachbezogenen Praktikum erhielt ich bei ihm 1986/87 fundierte Einblicke in Technik und Ästhetik der Dokumentarfotografie und begann, meine eigene Bildsprache zu entwickeln.
Nach einem fachbezogenen Praktikum in der Film- und Studioproduktion beim Bayerischen Rundfunk 1988 arbeitete ich mehrere Jahre als Kameraassistentin in der analogen und elektronischen Filmaufnahme in den Bereichen aktuelle Berichterstattung, Feature und Fernsehspiel.
Ausgangspunkt meiner fotografischen Arbeit ist bis heute die vorgefundene Wirklichkeit.
Im Laufe der Jahre hat sich meine Bildsprache jedoch zunehmend in Richtung Abstraktion entwickelt.
Dabei interessiert mich besonders, was entstehen kann, wenn sich durch Perspektive, Ausschnitt, Licht und die Möglichkeiten der Kamera die Bedingungen des Sehens verändern.
Meine Fotografien entstehen aus der Auseinandersetzung mit ganz unterschiedlichen Motiven und Situationen.
Manche dieser Bilder entwickeln im fotografischen Prozess eine eigene Identität, die über ihren Ausgangspunkt hinausweist. Diese Arbeiten bezeichne ich als Emergografien und versammle sie in meiner „Fotografischen Wunderkammer“.
Daneben arbeite ich mit weiteren fotografischen Herangehensweisen.

I learned my photographic craft from photographer and filmmaker Valentin Schwab. During a specialized internship with him in 1986/87, I gained a solid foundation in the technique and aesthetics of documentary photography and began to develop my own visual language.
After a specialized internship in film and studio production at Bayerischer Rundfunk in 1988, I worked for several years as a camera assistant in both analogue and electronic film production, contributing to news reporting, documentaries, and television drama.
My photographic work still begins with the reality I encounter. Over the years, however, my visual language has increasingly evolved toward abstraction. I am particularly interested in what can emerge when perspective, framing, light, and the possibilities of the camera alter the conditions of seeing.
My photographs arise from encounters with a wide variety of subjects and situations. Some of these images develop an identity of their own during the photographic process—one that reaches beyond their point of origin. I refer to these works as Emergographies and bring them together in my Photographic Wonder Room.
Alongside these works, I pursue other photographic approaches.
